8) Pull the starter handle slowly until
you feel resistance. Then, give a
strong pull straight out to start the
engine. Repeat it, if necessary.
9) After the engine starts, return the
starter handle slowly to the original
position before releasing it.

2-hp model: The propeller rotates when-
ever the engine is running. Do not move
the throttle control lever from the start
position during warm-up. The boat could
unexpectedly start to move, which could
result in an accident.
7) Place the choke knob in the “START”
position.
After the engine starts, return the
knob to the “RUN” position.
NOTE:
8 If the engine is warm, place the choke
knob in the “RUN” position.
8 If the choke knob is left in the “START”
position during running, the engine will
run poorly or stall.
