Outboard Rigging Guide - 2001
WATER TEMPERATURE GAUGE
The water temperature gauge uses a sensor on the
cylinder head to indicate the temperature of the
cooling water inside the powerhead. The meter
has a red zone to indicate overheating so problems
can be corrected before severe engine damage
occurs.
NOTE: For all 30hp~90hp applications, the same
sender mounting hole is used for either the water
temperature gauge or the water pressure gauge.
Both gauges cannot be used together on one
engine. However, on V4~V6 units, it is possible
to use both gauges with one engine.
NOTE: The 30hp requires drilling and tapping
the cylinder head for sensor installation.
If the needle rises above the shaded area, the
engine is in danger of overheating. Slow down
the engine to the specified trolling speed.
