Checking the shift gate mechanism
WARNING
Do not touch the shift gate while the re-
mote control lever is being operated, oth-
erwise you could be pinched.
Check the shift gate for proper operation.
(1) Remove the engine shut-off cord (lan-
yard) and main switch key.
(2) Put the remote control lever in the neutral
position.
(3) Check that the shift gate is slightly above
the shift gate neutral position when the
remote control lever is in the forward po-
sition, and that the shift gate is in the fully
open position when the remote control le-
ver is moved farther forward.

(4) Check that the shift gate is in the fully
closed position when the remote control
lever is in the reverse position.

If the shift gate does not operate correctly, ask
your authorized Yamaha Boat Dealer for ser-
vice.
