      If no sound is coming from the speakers of your Yamaha Drums, there might be several reasons: * The volume may be set too low, so adjust the volume. * A plug might be inserted into the PHONES/OUTPUT jack, so take the plug out. * The LOCAL ON/OFF might be set to OFF, so set the LOCAL ON/OFF to ON. * You may be in MIDI/Utility mode, so exit the MIDI/Utility mode.

      If the LED display on your Yamaha Drums is completely dark, and returns to “000” when the pads are struck, it's likely that the batteries are low. Replace them immediately with a complete set of six new batteries. Alternatively, use an optional AC adaptor PA-5D or PA-5C to power the DD-55.

      If the song or demo does not start playback on your Yamaha Drums, the MIDI clock may have been set to “E” (external). Change the MIDI clock setting to “I” (internal).
