If your Yamaha Outboard Motor's starter operates but the engine won't start, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the fuel tank isn't empty and is filled with clean, fresh fuel. Check the fuel filter for clogs and clean or replace it if necessary. Inspect the spark plugs for fouling or incorrect type, cleaning or replacing them as needed with the recommended type. Also, make sure the spark plug caps are correctly fitted and the engine stop switch lanyard is attached. Examine ignition wiring for damage or loose connections, and repair or tighten as necessary.
