Periodic maintenance
TIP
Install the muffler cap until it contacts with the projec-
tion on the muffler.
8. Install the muffler band, then tighten the muffler
cap bolt.
9. Install the muffler cover to the muffler, then install
the muffler cover bolts.
(Except for MX175/MX200)

Muffler cap bolt tightening torque:
3.5 N·m (0.35 kgf·m, 2.6 lb·ft)
Muffler cover bolt tightening torque:
10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7.4 lb·ft)
The engine and muffler will be very hot after the
engine has been run.
Avoid touching the engine and muffler while they
are still hot with any part of your body or clothing
during inspection or repair.
