4. Once the outboard motor is supported
with the tilt support lever, push the “ ”
(down) side of the power trim and tilt
switch to retract the trim rods. NOTICE:
Make sure that the trim rods retracts
completely during mooring. This pro-
tects the rods from marine growth
and corrosion, which could damage
the power trim and tilt mechanism.

Procedure for tilting down
Tilting down when using the tilt support shaft
1. If using the tilt support shaft, fully tilt the
outboard motor up, and then remove the
tilt support shaft.
2. Push the “ ” (down) side of the power
trim and tilt switch to tilt the outboard
motor down.
