Usage Features:

  • Smart Key System: Allows vehicle operation without a mechanical key and includes an answer-back function for locating the vehicle. The smart key has an operating range and an indicator light to show its status. The smart key battery life is approximately two years. The system can be turned on/off by pushing a button for 1 second. In case of smart key malfunction or discharge, an emergency mode allows starting the engine using an identification number.
  • Main Switch: Controls vehicle power (ON/OFF), steering lock/unlock, and opening of the seat, fuel tank lid, and storage compartment A.
  • Dual Displays: Features a multi-function meter unit with a Main display (speedometer, fuel meter, oil change indicator, V-belt replacement indicator, icy road warning indicator, odometer/tripmeters) and an Infotainment display.
  • Infotainment Display: Provides access to smart features, vehicle information, and settings. It is controlled by handlebar switches and a button. It offers visualizer home screens (Tachometer, ECO, Speed), a navigation home screen (requires Garmin StreetCross app), and a vehicle information home screen (average speed, fuel consumption, trip timer, air temperature, coolant temperature, battery voltage).
  • Smartphone Connectivity System (Y-Connect): Connects the smartphone to the vehicle via a Communication Control Unit (CCU) and the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect app. Features include GPS navigation (with Garmin StreetCross), telephone functions (receiving/making calls via Bluetooth headset), audio player, smartphone notifications, weather information, clock automatic update, and language settings.
  • Traction Control System (TCS): Helps maintain traction on slippery surfaces by regulating engine power. It is automatically turned on when the vehicle starts and can be manually turned off via the menu system.
  • Anti-lock Brake System (ABS): Features a dual electronic control system for independent front and rear brakes. It performs a self-diagnostic test when starting off and activates with a pulsating sensation at the brake levers during hard braking.
  • Storage Compartments: Three compartments are available: Storage compartment A (front, opened via main switch), Storage compartment B (front, push-to-open), and a rear storage compartment (under the seat, opened via main switch or mechanical key). Load limits apply to each compartment (A: 1.0 kg, B: 0.5 kg, Rear: 5.0 kg).
  • Windscreen: Adjustable to two height positions to suit rider preference.
  • Handlebar Position: Adjustable to two positions by a Yamaha dealer.
  • Shock Absorber Assemblies: Equipped with a spring preload adjusting ring with 5 settings (1-soft, 3-standard, 5-hard).
  • Power Outlet: A 12-V accessory connector located in storage compartment A, usable when the main switch is ON and the engine is running. Maximum load 12 W (1 A).
  • DC Connectors: Additional wiring and DC connector(s) for optional grip warmers.
  • Sidestand: Part of the ignition circuit cut-off system, which prevents riding with the sidestand down.
  • Hazard Switch: Turns on all turn signal lights simultaneously for emergency or warning purposes.

Maintenance Features:

  • Periodic Maintenance Chart: Provides recommended inspection, adjustment, and lubrication intervals for various components, including emission control systems.
  • Tool Kit: Located on the vehicle, it contains tools for preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Engine Oil and Oil Filter Element: Regular checks of the oil level are required. Oil and filter replacement intervals are specified in the maintenance chart. The oil change indicator "OIL" flashes at specific mileage intervals.
  • Final Transmission Oil: Check for leakage before each ride. Change intervals are specified in the maintenance chart.
  • Coolant: Check level before each ride. Coolant change intervals are specified. The coolant temperature warning light " " indicates overheating.
  • Air Filter and V-belt Case Air Filter Elements: Elements should be cleaned or replaced at specified intervals, more frequently in wet or dusty conditions.
  • Spark Plug: Check condition, adjust gap, and clean periodically. Replace if worn or damaged.
  • Throttle Grip Free Play: Check and adjust periodically (3.0–5.0 mm).
  • Valve Clearance: Check and adjust at specified intervals by a Yamaha dealer when the engine is cold.
  • Tires: Check air pressure and tread depth before each ride. Replace worn or damaged tires.
  • Brakes: Check front and rear brake lever free play, brake pad wear, and brake fluid level. Brake fluid should be changed every 2 years, and brake hoses every 4 years.
  • V-belt: Check and replace at specified intervals. The V-belt replacement indicator "V-BELT" flashes at specific mileage intervals.
  • Cables: Check operation and condition, lubricate if necessary.
  • Centerstand and Sidestand: Check operation and lubricate pivots.
  • Front Fork: Check condition (scratches, damage, oil leakage) and operation (smooth compression/rebound).
  • Steering: Check for worn or loose bearings.
  • Wheel Bearings: Check for play or rough turning.
  • Battery: VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) battery. Check lead connections. Store fully charged if not used for extended periods.
  • Fuses: Main fuse and individual circuit fuses are located under panel A. Replace blown fuses with the specified amperage.
  • Vehicle Lights: LED lights for headlights, auxiliary lights, brake/tail light, and turn signals. Check fuses if lights do not come on.
  • Troubleshooting Charts: Provide quick procedures for diagnosing common issues with fuel, battery, ignition, and compression.
  • Engine Break-in: Specific guidelines for the first 1600 km (1000 mi) to ensure engine longevity.
  • Scooter Care and Storage: Detailed instructions for cleaning, protecting matte finishes, special care in winter (road salt), and long-term storage procedures (fuel treatment, engine fogging, battery care).
