INSPECTION AND REPAIR
3.Inspect:
● Crankcase
Cracks/Damage → Replace.
● Oil delivery passages
Clog → Blow out with compressed air.
NOTE:
When the crankcase is replaced, be sure to
adjust the middle gear shim(s), refer to
“DRIVE TRAIN-MIDDLE GEAR SERVICE”
section in CHAPTER 6.
RECOIL STARTER
1.Inspect:
● Drive plate 1
Cracks Bends/Damage → Replace.
● Drive pawl 2
● Spring 3
● Spring 4 (drive pawl)
Wear/Cracks/Damage → Replace.
2.Inspect:
● Spring 1 (starter)
Wear/Cracks/Damage → Replace.
● Starter rope 2
Wear/Breaks/Damage → Replace.
● Sheave drum 3
Cracks/Damage → Replace.
