6. Remove the upper connecting rod and
lower shockabsorber securing bolts.
7. Remove the chain guard assembly.
8. Remove the nut on the swingarm pivot
shaft and tap
out the shaft with a long
aluminum or brass rod.

NOTE:
Carefully remove the arm while noting the
location
of spacing washers and shims. They
must be reinstalled in the
same positions.
9. Remove the relay arm and the connect-
ing rod.
Inspection
1. Measure the swingarm side clearance.
Std swingarm side clearance:
0.2 - 0.3 mm (0.00787 - 0.0118 in)
If the swingarm side clearance is out of
standard, select the proper shim quanti-
ty so that they conform to the standard
swingarm side clearance.
