Why Yard-Man Lawn Mower engine fails to start?
    • J
      John WilliamsAug 12, 2025
If your Yard-Man Lawn Mower engine fails to start, there are several potential causes. First, ensure the blade control handle is engaged. Check that the start control button is depressed and the safety key is in the run position. Also, make sure the spark plug wire is connected. The fuel tank may be empty or contain stale fuel, so fill it with clean, fresh gasoline. A blocked fuel line could also be the culprit, so try cleaning it. Inspect the spark plug; it may need cleaning, gap adjustment, or replacement. If the engine is flooded, wait a few minutes. Ensure the engine is primed by pushing the primer bulb three times. Finally, if the self-starter is de-energized, use the recoil starter.

      Patrick SweeneyAug 16, 2025
If your Yard-Man Lawn Mower engine is running erratically, start by checking the spark plug wire to ensure it's connected and tight. A blocked fuel line or stale fuel could also be the problem; clean the fuel line and refill the tank with fresh gasoline. Make sure the vent in the gas cap isn't plugged. Water or dirt in the fuel system can also cause issues, so drain the fuel tank and refill it with fresh fuel. Additionally, a dirty air cleaner can lead to erratic engine performance, so clean it. Finally, the carburetor might be out of adjustment, requiring adjustment.

What to do if Yard-Man Lawn Mower will not mulch grass?
    • S
      Steve GibsonAug 20, 2025
If your Yard-Man Lawn Mower isn't mulching grass effectively, it could be due to several reasons. Avoid mowing when the grass is wet; wait for it to dry. If the grass is excessively high, mow once at a higher cutting height, then mow again at the desired height, or reduce the cutting swath to half width. Also, a dull blade can hinder mulching, so sharpen or replace it.
