What to do if my YARDMAX Log Splitter fails to split logs?
    • C
      Charles HuynhAug 6, 2025
If your YARDMAX Log Splitter isn't splitting logs, several factors could be at play. First, make sure the log is positioned correctly. You may also need to reduce the log sizes if they exceed the machine's capacity. A dull wedge cutting edge can also be the culprit, so you may need to sharpen the cutting edge. If you notice oil leaks, contact YARDMAX. Also, contact YARDMAX if an adjustment was made on max pressure limiting screw.

      Travis SteeleAug 13, 2025
If the ram on your YARDMAX Log Splitter is moving slowly and stopping before reaching the end, it might not be level. Make sure the log splitter is placed on a level surface.

      Michael WhiteAug 21, 2025
If the log ram on your YARDMAX Log Splitter moves inconsistently, making unfamiliar noises or vibrations, it may be due to a lack of hydraulic oil or excessive air in the hydraulic system. Check the oil level and refill if necessary. For other reasons contact YARDMAX.

How to fix oil leaks around stroke limiter on YARDMAX Log Splitter?
    • K
      Kimberly EatonAug 28, 2025
If you notice oil leaks around the stroke limiter or from other points on your YARDMAX Log Splitter, it could be due to air sealed in the hydraulic system during operation. Before operating the log splitter, loosen the bleed screw by 3-4 rotations. Ensure that the bleed screw is tightened before moving the log splitter. Also, tighten the oil drain bolt with dipstick. For issues related to the hydraulic control valve assembly and/or worn seals, contact YARDMAX.
