3. When the water cooled torch is used for the welder, tap water cannot be used. Use the
cooling water circulator of the cooling water path insulation type exclusive for the high
DC voltage start method. The cooling water path including the water cooled torch and
the current path at the torch side must be insulated from the ground.
4. Be sure to connect the ground of the welder.
5. Connect the base metal to the positive terminal and be sure to connect the ground of the
base metal. Insulate the base metal ground line so that it does not contact with other
devices.
6. The electrical lifetime of the circuit magnetic contactor at the secondary side is a
million times. Replace it periodically. If the insulation resistance of the magnetic
contactor becomes 100 M or less, the start performance may be deteriorated.
7. High DC voltage occurs for approx. 2 seconds after startup. It stops temporarily 2
seconds after for assurance of safe operations. It starts again if a start signal has been
input. The same procedure is taken when arc is cut off during welding.
