Overview of Connecting S2BN1D base plate for US (FM) and Canada (FM)
S2BN1D base plate can be connected to the NI-compliant devices installed in Division 2. For the
connection to an NI-compliant device, it is necessary to compare parameters between the device
installed in a hazardous area and ProSafe-RS I/O module and evaluate whether connection is
possible or not.
S2BN1D base plate can be connected to the ameproof devices installed in Division 1 / Division
2 with explosion-proof wiring that is dened in NEC (National Electrical Code), CEC (Canadian
Electrical Code) or the rules/standards of each country or region. (*1)
N-IO node unit including S2BN1D can be installed in Division 2 by mounting in a keyed metal
cabinet approved by approval authorities.
N-IO eld enclosure S2NN70D is equipped with S2BN1D inside the enclosure, so the gure
below is also applicable for S2NN70D. In that case, replace S2BN1D with S2NN70D in the gure
below.
*1: SCB100 / SCB110 shall not be installed in Division 1.
When using SCB100/SCB110 to perform eld wiring diagnosis to the eld device installed in Division 1, it is necessary to prepare
an element that has the same characteristics as SCB100/SCB110 and is compatible with Division installation. When using these
elements to realize the wiring diagnosis of the DI function, check the behavior with the actual connection environment before
using. Please contact with Yokogawa about the specication of SCB100/SCB110.
