Usage Features:

  • Manual Speed Setting: Achieved via "n-min" (R28) and "n-max" (R35) potentiometers. "n-min" adjusts the minimal output (basic speed) from approximately 0% to 100% line voltage. "n-max" sets the maximum output (speed limit) from 100% down to "n-min".
  • External Signal Control: Speed can be adjusted using an external 0-10 V or 0-20 mA signal connected to terminals "E" and "GND". For 0-20 mA control, an external circuit resistor (499 Ω / 0.25 W) is required between "E" and "GND".
  • Cos φ Adjustment: The "n-max" potentiometer also allows for cos φ adjustment, compensating for the motor's inductance to ensure the maximum output voltage is reached accurately.
  • Multiple Fan Operation: Several fans can be connected to one controller, provided the total current of all motors does not exceed the controller's current rating. For motors from other manufacturers, control characteristics and maximum current for electronic voltage regulation should be confirmed.
  • Motor Protection: For enhanced safety, it is recommended to use a separate motor surveillance unit (e.g., S-ET10) for each fan. The device itself offers total motor protection with automatic cut-off by thermocontact actuation in case of motor overtemperature, requiring a manual reset after malfunction.
  • Outdoor Installation: PSE-6V and PSE-14V models (and PAE10E-M in an empty IP54 case) are suitable for outdoor installation down to -20° C, provided the device remains switched on.
  • Cable Installation: Adherence to specific guidelines for motor and signal cables to minimize interference. Motor cables up to 2m (not screened) or 5m (screened) for interference level "B" (EN 55022) for PAE10E-M/PSE-6V, and up to 50m (screened) for interference level "A". For PSE-14V, up to 15m (not screened) for interference level "B". Signal cables should not exceed 30m, with screened cables required for lengths over 20m, connected to the protective conductor at the control unit end.

Maintenance Features:

  • Fuse Replacement: Fuses must only be replaced with new ones of the specified type and rating. Repairing or bypassing fuses is strictly forbidden.
  • Troubleshooting: In case of line faults (e.g., fuse or network failures), the controller switches off automatically and restarts upon voltage restoration.
  • Storage: Store the controller in its original packaging in a dry, weather-proof room, avoiding extreme heat and low temperatures. To prevent functional faults, ensure no condensing humidity enters the controller; store at room temperature before commissioning.
  • Safety: All electrical installation and maintenance work must be carried out by trained electricians in accordance with general and locally applicable directives. The device must be closed or installed in a control cabinet during operation, as opening exposes hazardous voltages (IP00 rating when open). Regular checks of all functions and alarms are crucial, especially in intensive animal environments, to prevent life-threatening situations. Any detected faults in the electrical system must be corrected immediately, and the device should not be operated if faulty. The safe isolation from the supply must be checked using a two-pole voltage detector.
