Sheep and Goat Applicator

 Disinfectant solution for use in animals - made up according to manufacturer’s directions

 Veterinary obstetrical lubricant

 Disposable gloves

 Pliers

 Paper towel

1. Loading the Applicator

 Wear gloves at all times when handling the CIDR

Sheep and Goat Device

 Take 1 CIDR

Sheep and Goat Device and fold the wings together. Fit the

body of the insert into the applicator with the tail along the slot and pointing

towards the plunger. The two wings will be pushed together, protruding about 2

centimetres above the top of the applicator.

General

List of necessary equipment for the CIDR Sheep and Goat Device insertion procedure, including applicator, gloves, and lubricant.

Properly load the CIDR Sheep and Goat Device into the applicator by folding wings and fitting the insert body.

Prepare the applicator by immersing in disinfectant, cleaning the vulva, and applying lubricant.

Insert the loaded applicator into the vulva, re-angle, and pass over the pelvic bone for proper placement.

Gently remove the CIDR Sheep and Goat Device by pulling downwards on the tail after insertion.
