Responding to or removing a notication
In the Notication Panel, you can respond to or remove notications. The
Notication Panel also supports expandable notications that let you perform
additional actions right from the notication itself.
• To respond to a notication, tap it.
• Slide down to expand certain notications. You can also tap
/ or
spread/pinch with two ngers to expand or collapse certain notications
and bundled notications.
• To remove a notication, swipe it left or right.
• To remove all nonpersistent notications, tap CLEAR ALL at the end of
the list of notications. (Some notications are persistent and cannot be
removed until you tap them.)
• To manage notications you have received, press and hold a notication
or slide it slightly to the left or right and tap . You can then choose
to silence or block notications from the app, or tap MORE SETTINGS to
customize more notication settings. See Settings – Device – Notications.
Note: If you block notications for an app, you may miss its important alerts
and updates. The notications of some apps cannot be blocked.
Using Quick Settings
The Quick Settings in the Notication Panel make it convenient to view or
change the most common settings for your phone.
Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Notication Panel; here
you can nd few of the Quick Settings tiles. To open the full Quick Settings
Panel and see all of the tiles, drag the Notication Panel downward, or use
two ngers to swipe down from the top of the screen.
Notes:
• Swipe left on the Quick Settings Panel to view more tiles.
• At the top of the Quick Settings Panel, tap
to open the full Settings menu.
KNOWING THE BASICS
To turn settings on or o quickly:
1. With two ngers, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick
Settings panel.
2. Tap a Quick Settings tile to turn that setting on or off. Press and hold
certain tiles to access more setting options. (For example, press and hold
the Wi-Fi tile to open the Wi-Fi menu in Settings.)
To customize the Quick Settings panel:
You can add, remove, or rearrange the tiles on the Quick Settings Panel.
1. Open the Quick Settings Panel.
2. Tap at the top of the panel, and then try the following options to
manage your Quick Settings tiles:
• To move a tile, press and hold it and drag it to the position you want.
• To hide a tile, press and hold it and drag it to the section below to hide it.
• To add a tile, press and hold a tile under Drag to add tiles and drag it
up to the main Quick Settings Panel.

Adding shortcuts and widgets
1. To add shortcuts, tap the Arrow or swipe up from the bottom of the
home screen.
Or, to add widgets, press and hold an empty area of the home screen
and tap Widgets.
2. Slide up or down to browse the available apps; slide left or right to browse
the available widgets.
3. Press and hold a widget or an application icon, and drag it to a home
screen panel.
Note: While dragging the item, you can take it to the right edge of the
screen to create a new home screen panel. Release the item to place it
on the new panel.
