Work Area Safety
1� Keep work area clean and well lit� Cluttered
benches and dark areas may cause accidents�
2� Do not connect or disconnect the Scanner while
the ignition is on or the engine is running�
3� DO NOT attempt to operate the Scanner
while driving the vehicle. Have a
passenger operate the Scanner.
4� Before testing a vehicle, put the transmission
in PARK (for automatic transmission) or
NEUTRAL (for manual transmission)� Engage
the parking brake and chock the tires�
5� NEVER smoke or allow a spark or flame
in vicinity of battery or engine�
6� Operating a vehicle indoors CAN KILL
YOU IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust contains
carbon monoxide� This is a poison you cannot
see or smell� NEVER operate vehicle inside
a home or garage, EVEN IF doors and
windows are open� Only use OUTSIDE and
far away from windows, doors, and vents�
7� Do not operate the Scanner in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases, or heavy dust�
