Fiber-Optic Repeater Module (3C18135A)
Smart, secure module providing connections
for six fiber users via ST connectors. Module
conforms to the 10BASE-FL standard.
6-Port Coax Repeater Module (3C18140A)
Smart, secure module providing connections
for six coax users via BNC connectors. Each
port has a separate switch to allow for inter-
nal segment termination.
EXPANSION MODULES
LinkBuilder MSH expansion modules cost-
effectively increase the number of available
ports. Media may be mixed for maximum
flexibility.
Fiber-Optic Expansion Module (3C18136)
Adds six fiber ST ports to a coax or fiber
repeater module.
Coax Expansion Module (3C18141)
Adds six coax ports to a coax or fiber
repeater module.
Transceiver Interface Expansion Module
(3C18146)
Equipped with slots for two Transceiver
Interface Modules (see page 19), cost-
effectively adding transceiver connections
for a variety of media to LinkBuilder MSH
coax or fiber repeater modules.

The LinkBuilder MSH lets you fully integrate
Token Ring LANs into your enterprise network
while maintaining a high degree of data
integrity.
UTP MAU Module (3C18200)
STP MAU Module (3C18201)
Connections for 12 UTP or STP users via
shielded RJ-45 connectors.
Advanced MAU Module (3C18202)
Connections for 12 UTP or STP users via
shielded RJ-45 connectors. UTP and STP
connections can be mixed on one module.
Module includes advanced reliability and
performance features.
STP RingBuilder Module (3C18241)
Provides Ring In/Ring Out (RI/RO) connections
and smart management for any number of
MAUs in the LinkBuilder MSH chassis.
DB-9 STP connectors.
Fiber RingBuilder Module (3C18240)
Provides Ring In/Ring Out (RI/RO) connections
and smart management routines for any
number of MAUs in the LinkBuilder MSH
chassis. ST fiber and DB-9 STP connectors.
RMON probe (3C18250)
Supports all ten groups for one Token Ring.
FDDI CONNECTIONS
The LinkBuilder MSH provides high-speed
FDDI concentration in both fiber-optic and
UTP copper modules.
FDDI Fiber-Optic Module (3C18300)
Connections for four single-attached
workstations via fiber MIC connectors.
CDDI UTP Module (3C18301)
Connections for six single-attached work-
stations via UTP FDDI RJ-45 connectors.
FDDI RingBuilder Module (3C18310)
Forms a single FDDI ring from multiple
LinkBuilder MSH FDDI concentrator modules
using the hub’s backplane.
FDDI Fiber MIC Media Module (3C18320)
Lets you set up a link to an external ring, or
two links for resilient dual-attach or dual-
home FDDI configurations.
BRIDGING
4-Port Ethernet Bridge Module (3C18600)
Local Ethernet bridge with three internal ports
for workgroup connections to the hub back-
planes and one external port for a backbone
connection via a transceiver interface module.
Supports Spanning Tree Algorithm and a full
range of user-configurable filter options.
2-Port Token Ring Bridge Module
(3C18620)
Local 4/16 Mbps SRT Token Ring bridge with
one internal port for a workgroup connection
and one port that is switchable between a
second internal Token Ring or an external
connection with DB-9 RI/RO connectors.
SWITCHING
LinkSwitch 1200 Module (3C18640)
Provides frame switching between the hub’s
three Ethernet buses and FDDI. Can connect
to the internal FDDI backplane or optional
interfaces for external single- or dual-
attached FDDI rings.
LinkSwitch Expansion Module (3C18645)
Connects six additional switched UTP
Ethernet segments or high-performance
workstations to the hub’s three Ethernet
backplanes and FDDI.
