This component is part of a system that helps protect against certain airborne contaminants. Misuse may result in sickness or death. For correct
use, consult supervisor and User Instructions, or call 3M in U.S.A., 1-800-243-4630. In Canada, call Technical Service at 1-800-267-4414.
In order to ensure that the product provides the expected level of protection, it is essential that it is assembled correctly and in accordance with
the instructions provided.
Proper selection, training, use and appropriate maintenance are essential in order for the product to help protect the wearer from certain
physical hazards.
Failure to follow all instructions on the use of these personal protection products and/or failure to properly wear the complete
product during all periods of exposure may result in injury or death.
Check to ensure product is complete, undamaged and correctly assembled. Any damaged or defective parts must be replaced with original
3M™ Spare Parts before use.
Ensure that the operating temperature of the respirator system components (i.e. respiratory headgear) being used in conjunction with the
radiant heat kit is not exceeded. Please refer to the temperature guidance provided in the User Instructions specic to each component.
This product is not intended for use in welding applications. The Over-Visor will not protect the wearer’s eyes from the harmful level of visible
light, ultra-violet radiation (UV), and infrared radiation (IR) resulting from arc and certain gas welding processes. Misuse may result in
permanent eye injury and vision loss.
The radiant heat cover may not eliminate all risks of burns if worn directly next to the skin.
The cover should be used as part of a complete range of protective garments that are selected in accordance with the employer’s risk
assessment. The cover is designed for use in combination with the 3M™ Versao™ M-Series Over-Visor.
Always be sure that the complete product is:
- Suitable for the application;
- Fitted correctly with all User Instructions followed;
- Worn during all periods of exposure;
- Replaced when necessary.
Inspect the Over-Visor and Frame carefully before each use for signs of dirt or damage. Replace any parts that show signs of damage such as
scratches, adhesions or distortion.
Inspect the radiant heat cover carefully before each use. Replace any parts that show signs of damage such as wear, abrasions, tearing or loss
of aluminum coating. Do not attempt to repair the product if damaged.
In the event of a molten metal, chemical or ammable liquid splash:
- The user must leave the work place immediately and remove the product carefully avoiding contact with the hazardous material.
- The product should then be carefully inspected and cleaned or removed from service.
APPROVALS, CERTIFICATION AND MARKINGS
NIOSH-Approvals, Cautions & Limitations
This product is one component of a NIOSH approved respiratory protection system. Refer to the User Instructions and/or the NIOSH approval provided
with the 3M™ Supplied Air Device or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) Blower unit for approved congurations and applicable NIOSH Cautions
and Limitations.
The radiant heat covers meet the requirements of the European Community Directive 89/686/EEC (Personal Protective Equipment Directive) and
are thus CE marked. Certication under Article 10, EC Type-Examination and Article 11, EC Quality Control, has been issued by BTTG Testing &
Certication Ltd., Unit 14 Wheel Forge Way, Trafford Park, Manchester, M17 1EH, UK (Notied Body number 0338).
This visor meets the requirements of the European Community Directive 89/686/EEC (Personal Protective Equipment Directive) and are thus CE
marked. Certication under Article 10, EC Type-Examination and Article 11, EC Quality Control, has been issued by DIN CERTCO GmbH, Alboinstraße
56, 12103 Berlin, Germany (Notied Body number 0196).
Fabric
The radiant heat cover is marked in accordance with EN ISO 11612:2015, protective clothing against heat and ame.
