17 Troubleshooting Guide
This section presents a selection of questions and answers that might be relevant to Diagnostic SpaceWire
Interface problems.
17.1 I cannot make a TCP/IP connection to my DSI unit.
Make sure that the DSI unit is powered on and that the Ethernet cable is plugged in [at both ends!].
Are you attempting to connect from the host computer to the IP address of the correct DSI unit?
Run a ping test to make sure that your host computer can talk to the DSI unit.
Look at the front-panel display of the DSI unit to confirm that the IP address shown is the one that you are
expecting to use. Check all of the digits very carefully...
Check your network configuration to make sure that there is a viable IP route from your host computer to the unit
- maybe using tracert or traceroute.
Does the DSI unit’s front panel display show “L” for listening, before attempting to run SpWIO or the API
program, and “C” when connected?
