Hardware design
Base unit versions
The REF 542plus base unit housing is made
from aluminum sheets. Its surface is chroma-
tized both to protect the housing against cor-
rosion and to improve immunity against
EMC disturbances.
Two different housings are available:
• Standard
•Wide
In both versions, at least the following mod-
ules have to be present:
• the power supply, the mainboard.
• the analog input module
• one binary input and output module
The standard housing can additionally in-
clude:
• another binary input and output module
• alternatively the communication module
or the 0(4)-20 mA analog output module.
Note: The backplane for the 0(4)-20 mA ana-
log output module and the communication
module is different, so the backplane will be
varied according to the order.
The wide housing can additionaly house:
• other 2 binary input and output modules
• the communication module
• alternatively the 0(4)-20 mA analog out-
put module or the 4-20 mA analog input
module
