4. Panel design and equipment
4.8 Monitoring and Diagnostics
Optional equipment for Monitoring and
diagnostics available for single busbar
switchgear up to 12 kV, 50 kA.
Main circuit temperature monitoring:
Temperature monitoring of the main circuit
uses sensors STL201 powered from the main
current path (minimum current for function is
5 A in panels rated up to 1 250 A and 10 A in
panels rated over 1 250 A).
Sensors communication with data
concentrator MDC605 is wireless. In one
single-busbar panel there may be installed up
to 12 sensors. Sensors are factory-installed at
or near current path joints, fixed or movable,
to monitor the temperature is within
expected values. In case a temperature is out
of expected values, a warning or an alarm is
triggered.
Environmental sensors optional in cable
compartment (for cable compartment
temperature and humidity monitoring) and/
or at the low-voltage compartment door (for
switchroom temperature and humidity
monitoring).
Partial dischare sensors consisting of
capacitive dividers in busbar compartment
as a signal source for PDCOM processing
unit. The system does monitor long term
trend in partial discharges level, in case the
level of partial discharges rises, the alarm is
triggered. PDCOM processing unit
communicates with SWICOM data
concentrator via CAN bus.
