8.4 CHASSIS EARTH STRAP
The earth strap is provided as an electrostatic discharge path from the printer mechanism to the
system ground. In earthed equipment, the eyelet should be connected to ground. It is designed to
accommodate a No.2 screw.
NOTE: If the Ap1400V is being fitted into host equipment that has no
earth, remove the earth strap carefully with wire-cutters to prevent
short circuits to the printer and/or host equipment.
