2 Leaving the existing SCSI card in place, install the new SCSI card, following the
instructions provided Installing the Adaptec SCSI Card on page 24.
3 Power on your system.
4 If prompted, install the operating system driver.
5 If prompted, restart your system.
6 Ensure that the new SCSI card is functioning properly, then power off your system and
disconnect the power cord. Open the cabinet, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Read the Safety Information on page 45.
7 Disconnect any SCSI devices from the old SCSI card and transfer them to the new SCSI
card.
8 Remove the old SCSI card from its PCI, PCI-X or PCIe slot. Close the computer cabinet,
reattach the system’s power cord, then power on your system.
