9.3. Mounting Methods
There are several standard ways to mount the COM Express module with a thermal solution onto a carrier board.
In addition to the choice of 5 mm or 8mm board-to-board connectors, there is the choice of Top and Bottom
mounting. In Top mounting, the threaded standoffs are on the carrier board and the thermal solution is equipped
with through-hole standoffs. In Bottom mounting, the threaded standoffs are on the thermal solution and the carrier
board has through-hole standoffs.
