The TRANS PRO system offers an intuitive control panel with step-by-step guided operation, making it user-friendly for professional automotive technicians. It supports multiple user-selectable modes, including:
- Dipstick Only Mode: This mode allows for ATF exchange through the transmission's dipstick tube. The process involves extracting used ATF from the pan, pumping an equal volume of new ATF back, and then circulating new ATF through the system by running the engine. Subsequent extractions and returns of 1 quart of diluted ATF and new ATF, respectively, continue until the selected volume is reached. This method is particularly efficient as it replaces used ATF in the pan first, reducing dilution time and optimizing service comprehensiveness.
- Cooler Line Only Mode (TRANS PRO+ feature): This advanced mode utilizes adapters connected to the transmission's cooler lines for ATF exchange. After connecting adapters and starting the engine, the system extracts and returns 1 quart of ATF at a time until the selected volume is transferred. This mode is designed for situations where cooler line access is preferred.
- Manual/Top Off Mode: This mode is used when the transmission pan needs to be removed (e.g., for gasket or filter changes) or to simply top off the ATF fluid level. It allows for controlled addition or extraction of ATF in 0.1 quart increments through the dipstick tube.
- Drain Waste Tank Mode: This function facilitates the transfer of used ATF from the internal waste tank of the TRANS PRO to an external waste ATF reservoir.
- Total Count Mode: This mode displays the total number of services performed by the unit.
The control panel features bright seven-segment LED displays for function, fluid volume in and out, process progression, and service count. - Dipstick Tube Inspection: For dipstick tubes with a nut and 2-piece ferrule, ensure proper orientation and tightness of the nut. For push-lock fittings, verify a proper seal and check the tube's outer diameter (OD) for distortions; if distorted, cut 1/2" length with a razor blade and reinstall.
