The
4
SHIFT
5
key
causes
the
alternate
function
of
any
key
pressed
directly
after
it
to
be
executed.
When
the
4
SHIFT
5
key
is
pressed,
the
word
SHIFT
will
be
displayed
in
the
display
.
The
next
key
that
is
pressed
after
the
4
SHIFT
5
key
will
execute
the
function
that
is
indicated
by
the
text
that
is
above
the
key.
As an
example,
note
that
MUL
TIPLIER
appears
directly
above
the
4
FREQ
5
key
.
MUL
TIPLIER
is
the
alternate
function
of
the
4
FREQ
5
key
.
Pressing
4
SHIFT
5
,
4
FREQ
5
will
enable
the
frequency
multiplier
entry
mode
.
If
the
4
SHIFT
5
key
is
pressed
prior
to
pressing
a
key
that has
no alternate
function,
SHIFT
will
be
canceled
from
the
display
and
no action
will be
taken
by
the
instrument.
If
you
press
the 4
SHIFT
5
key
accidentally
, pressing
it again
will
cancel
it
without
altering
synthesizer
operation.
Equivalent
SCPI
Command
There is
no equivalent
SCPI command
for the
4
SHIFT
5 key
, however
, sending
the
\SY
ST:KEY 0"
command is
eectively the
same
as
pressing
the
4
SHIFT
5
key
.
