By
using
external
equipment
with
the
synthesizer
,
you
can
generate
millimeter-wave
signals.
Generating
millimeter-wave signals
uses
the
following
external
equipment.
Equipment Requirements
Microwave
Amplier
Must
be
compatible
with
the
HP
8355X
Source
Module
used.
HP
8355X
Source
Module
Must
be
capable
of
generating
the
desired
frequenc
y
.
In
addition,
you
must
supply
any
cables
and
adapters
necessary
to
connect
the
equipment.

Connect
the
equipment
as
shown
in
Figure
3-1

connecting
or
disconnecting
the
source
module
interface
cable

Enter
the
proper
multiplier
value
for
the
HP
8355X-series
source
module
that you are using into the synthesizer
.
Perform the
following procedure to select and enter the proper multiplier
value.
a. Press the
4
SHIFT
5 key.
b. Press the
4
FREQ
5 key.
