^Playing External MIDI Sound Sources
The EWV2000 is equipped with a MIDI OUT terminal, making it
possible to play an external MIDI-compatible sound source from the
EWIlOOOorEVIlOOO.
Data Sent from MIDI OUT
Various data are sent from the EWV2000's MIDI OUT terminal.
1. MIDI channel
2. Program change
3. MIDI note number
4. Bender (lip sensor output data is also included)
5. Remote control of after touch, breath control, and volume accord
ing to breath
6. Velocity value is fixed ("40 H")
7. Chord (programmable)
8. Portamento
Connections
Use a MIDI cable to connect the MIDI OUT terminal on the
EWV2000 to the MIDI IN terminal on the external sound source.

(1) First press the MIDI button. The following will appear on the
display:
MIDI CHANNEL: X\
Use the VALUE UP and DOWN keys to set the transmission
channel. If "1" is set, also set the receiving channel for the ex
ternal sound source to " 1".
(2) Next press the MIDI button and set the threshold value. Usual
ly use "00", but set other values when using tonguing to obtain
more effective sound.

(3) Press the MIDI button again and select the breath control
mode. Now select the breath control mode.
CONTROL:
OFF
Use the VALUE UP and DOWN keys to switch mode between
OFF, AFTER TOUCH, BREATH, VOLUME and OFF.
OFF:
AFTER
TOUCH:
BREATH:
VOLUME:
Cancels breath modulation control for the external
sound source. Usually use this mode.
The external sound source is modulated with after
touch data.
This mode functions for external sounds sources
having other breath controller modulation functions.
This functions for external sound sources on which
the main volume can be controlled with MIDI data.
Control mode "CTL" may not provide sufficient effect for some
MIDI-compatible external sound sources. If so, use the OFF mode.
(4) Finally, set whether or not to send the program change informa
tion. Press the MIDI button again. The following display will
appear:

Use the VALUE buttons to selected either "DISABLE" (not to send
the program change information) or "ENABLE" (to send the pro
gram change information). When "ENABLE" is selected, the bank
number of the external MIDI-compatible equipment will change
when the EWV2000 bank/number changes.
