be
recorded
with
the
following
operation.
if
you
have
not
already
preset
the
TV
stations,
refer
to
the
“Presetting
TV
stations”
section.
The
use
of
E-300
tapes
is
not
recommended.
Before
proceeding:
e
Turnon
the
TV
and
VCR.
e
Make
sure
thatthe
TV
is
setto
the
video
channel
or
that
the
TV's
TV/VCR
switch
is
set
to
VCR
(refer
to
“Video
chan-
nel”).

Load
a
blank
video
tape.
If
the
video
tape’s
recording
defeat
tab
has
‘been
removed,
cover
the
cavity
with
adhesive
tape
before
loading.

Select
the
station
that
you
want
to
record
with
the
CHANNEL
buttons.

Press
the
REC
(Recording)
button
until
“REC”
lights
on
the
FL
display.
The
REC
button
must
be
pressed
slightly
longer
than
other
buttons.
This
is
a
built-in
feature
to
prevent
ac-
cidental
recording.

To
stop
recording,
press
the
stop
=
button.
To
temporarily
stop
recording,
press
the
PAUSE
button.
To
resume
recording,
press
the
REC
button.
Note:
e
Ifyou
press
the
POWER
button
during
recording,
the
VCR
will
record
to
the
end
of
the
tape,
rewind
it
and
then
turn
the
power
off
automatically.
e
In
step
3,
the
PAUSE
button
on
the
remote
control
can
be
pressed
in
place
of
the
REC
button.
The
VCR
will
then
go
to
the
recording
pause
(standby)
mode.
When
you
want
to
start
recording
press
the
REC
button.
Recording
pause
will
be
released
after
approximately
30
minutes
to
protect
the
video
tape.
e
If
the
tape
ends
during
recording
it
will
stop
and
rewind
automatically.

To
eject
the
tape
from
the
recording
mode,
press
the
.
remote
contro!
stop
button
and
then
the
eject
button
(or
press
the
VCR
stop/eject
button
twice).

display

VCR

recording.

recording,

perform
the
following
operation.

Press
the
!-HQ
button
then
the
REC
button
and
hold
both
buttons
down
until
the
I-HQ
indicator
appears
on
the
FL
display.
The
I-HQ
indicator
will
flash
while
the
auto
tape
tuning
pro-
cess
is
in
operation.
When
the
process
is
completed
the
in-
dicator
will
stop
flashing
and
remain
lit.
The
VCR
willthen
be
in
the
recording
pause
mode.
Note:
e
The
l-HQ
feature
takes
approximately
15
seconds
to
com-
plete
auto
tape
tuning.
For
full
information
on
the
!-HQ
fea-
ture
refer
to
“The
intelligent-HQ
(!-HQ)
feature”
section.

The
OTR
feature
is
used
to
set
the
stop
time
of
arecording
that
has
already
begun.
For
example,
you
may
have
started
recording
a
programme
manually
and
you
wantto
go
out,
or
go
to
bed,
before
the
recor-
ding
is
finished.
You
can
use
the
OTR
feature
to
set
a
time
for
the
recording
to
stop.
The
stop
time
can
only
be
set
to
the
hour
or
half
hour.
|
During
recording,
press
the
OTR
button
until
“OTR”
and
“STOP”
light
on
the
FL
display.
The
VCR
has
to
be
in
the
recording
mode
for
at
least
5
seconds
until
the
OTR
feature
can
be
used.

Press
the
OTR
button
to
set
the
stop
time
(up
to
a
maximum
of
7
hours
30
minutes).
The
first
time
the
button
is
pressed
the
time
will
be
ad-
justed
to
the
half
hour
or
hour.
For
example,
if
the
time
is
18:12
the
clock
will
be
set
to
18:30,
if
the
time
is
18:35
it
will
be
set
to
19:00.
After
this,
each
time
the
button
is
pressed
the
time
will
advance
at
30
minute
intervals.
The
“STOP”
display
will
disappear
after
the
stop
time
has
been
set.
lH
Tocancel
the
OTR
mode,
press
the
TIMER
button.
The
VCR
will
go
to
the
ordinary
recording
mode
(“OTR”
dis-
appears
from
the
FL
display).
To
stop
recording,
press
the
stop
ms
button.
Note:
¢
Instep
2,
if
you_press
the
button
until
“END”
lights
on
the
FL
display,
the
VCR
will
record
to
the
end
of
the
tape,
eject
it
and
then
turn
the
power
off.
e
The
power
will
be
automatically
turned
off
when
recording
is
finished
or
if
the
tape
runs
out.
e
During
recording
all
other
operations
of
the
VCR
are
can-
celled.
©
This
feature
will
not
operate
if
the
clock
is
not
set.
