@ During recording, to display the tape counter on the FL
display, press the remote control’s COUNTER RESET
button once (the tape counter will appear for a few sec-
onds).
To reset the counter to zero, press the button twice.
To watch a different TV programme
than the one being recorded
| Set the TV’s TV/VCR switch to TV.
Set the TV’s channel selector to the channel you
wish to watch.
When you want to return to the programme being re-
corded, set the TV back to the video channel.

e |fyou are using a video/audio connector with your TV (refer
to “Connections”), the TV/VCR button on the remote con-
trol can be used in place of the TV’s TV/VCR switch.
Index codes
Each time recording begins, an index code is added to the
video tape (except if started from the recording pause
mode). This index code is later used during the index
search operation (refer to “Playback’”). While recording,
additional index codes can be added at any point by
pressing the REC button on the remote control (“REC” will
flash on the FL display for a few seconds).
