Initial
setting
SHOWVIEW
is
a
quick
and
easy
way
of
setting
your
VCR
for
timer
recording.
All
you
have
to
do
is
enter
a
few
numbers
(shown
next
to
the
TV
programme
in
the
TV
magazine
or
newspaper)
into
the
remote
control
and
the
TV
channel/date/
start/stop
times
are
entered
automatically.
Note:
e
Make
sure
thatthe
remote
control
and
VCR's
clocks
are
set
correctly
before
programming.

Press
the
SHOWVIEW
button
on
the
remote
control.
Enter
the
code
number
of
the
TV
programme
that
you
want
to
record
with
the
1
-
0
buttons.
Press
the
<
button
if
you
want
to
cancel
the
last
number
that
you
entered,
each
time
you
press
the
button,
the
number
to
the
left
will
be
cancelled.
To
cancel
the
whole
number,
press
the
CANCEL
button.
Press
the
OK
button.
The
programme
date,
start/stop
time
will
be
displayed.
“Err”
will
appear
if
anon
recognizable
code
is
entered.
In
this
case,
re-enter
the
correct
code.
lf
the
programme
is
on
every
day
or
once
every
week,
you
can
record
it
automatically
by
pressing
the
DAILY
or
WEEKLY
button.
Enter
the
PS
number
of
the
channel
that
the
pro-
gramme
is
being
shown
on.
For
example,
the
programme
you
want
to
record
is
on
LA2.
If
your
VCR
is
set
so
that
LA2
is
on
PS
2,
then
you
enter
0
then
2.
Pointthe
remote
control
at
the
VCR
and
press
the
OK
button.
The
data
will
be
transferred
to
the
VCR.
“FULL”
will
appear
on
the
FL
display
if
all
4
programmes
already
have
data
entered.
To
change
or
cancel
existing
data,
refer
to
“NOTES
ON
TIMER
RECORDING?
at
the
end
of
the
“Timer
recording”
section.
Press
the
SHOWVIEW
bution
to
return
to
the
normal
mode.
Press
the
TIMER
button.
The
timer
and
I-HQ
indicators
will
appear
on
the
VCR’s
FL
display.
The
VCR
is
now
in
the
timer
mode
and
recor-
ding
will
start
and
stop
automatically
at
the
programmed
time.
Note:
e
The
I-HQ
feature
works
automatically
during
timer
recor-
ding.
©
lf
the
loaded
video
tape’s
recording
defeat
tab
has
been
removed,
the
tape
will
automatically
be
ejected
when
the
TIMER
buiton
is
pressed.
e
|fatapeis
not
loaded,
the
VCR
will
not
enter
the
timer
mode
and
will
return
to
the
normal
mode.
In
this
case,
load
a
tape
and
press
the
TIMER
button
again.
e
Ifthe
video
tape
runs
out
during
timer
recording,
the
VCR
will
automatically
eject
the
tape
and
turn
itself
off.
Step
4
only
has
to
be
performed
once
(for
each
preset
channel),
as
the
remote
control
will
memorize
and
auto-
matically
enter
the
channel
number
the
next
time
that
a
code
numberis
entered
for
that
channel
(LA2in
this
case).
The
following
display
will
appear
in
place
of
that
shown
in
step
3,
and
step
4
can
be
omitted.
