5. Hold the product with both hands. Make sure that you hold the handle

and
the guide handle

firmly in your hands (see Fig. C).
If you are right-handed, hold the guide handle in your right hand and the handle
in your left. If you are left-handed, hold the guide handle in your left hand and the
handle in your right.
6. Make sure that the cutter bar does not touch anything. Press the pressure switch
on the handle and the pressure switch on the guide handle and keep both pres-
sure switches pressed. The cutting blades will now start running.
The product has a two-hand safety circuit. The cutting blades of the
cutter bar will only run if you operate the pressure switch on the han-
dle and the pressure switch on the guide handle simultaneously. As
soon as one of the switches is released, the cutting blades stop.
7. Guide the cutter bar with the running cutting blades along the surface to be cut.
Start with the sides of the hedge. Guide the product with arc-shaped movements
against the direction of growth from bottom to top (see Fig. D).
The double-sided cutting blades allow you to cut in both directions.
8. Then cut the top of the hedge (see Fig. E).
If necessary, use a guide when cutting the top to achieve a straight cut.
For optimum cutting performance, guide the cutter bar at an an-
gle of 15˚ to the hedge cutting surface (see Fig. F and G).
As well as for hedges, you can also use the product for shrubs and
bushes.
Check the pruning season for different types of plants. Deciduous
hedges can be pruned between June and October. The season for
coniferous hedges runs from April to August. Conifers can be cut
from May onwards.
The transparent hand guard

protects against sharp branches
and twigs as well as flying debris during cutting.
The product is very loud when running. Do not use the product at
unsociable times.
Do not dispose of cuttings with your household waste. Put cuttings
in compost.
