monopolar
speaker)
as full-range
surounds
would
be
usefirl in
the following
cases:

Ifthe surround
speakers arejust
as important
as
the
fronts
in achieving
a
specialized
effect, such as
completely
mixing the
sax in the left rear
only and a
flute
in the right rear.

If
you
know that your
mix will
always be played back
on a monopolar
sunound
system.

If
the control room is
completely damped with
sound absorption on all
surfaces.
(This
rrnders
the reverberant-field
generating properties of
a bipole/dipole
speaker ineffective.)
