Reason
There has been an instance of a supply failing with a fully loaded system (All
Valve Option, EQ unit and Crossfader), due to failure of the low voltage bridge
rectifier.
We have evaluated this and though the current draw is still within the
specification of the device, feel that it would be prudent to fit a heavier duty
rectifier to any mixer that is fitted with an all valve option.
Detail
The component that requires up-rating is BR2 that rectifies the supply to the
valve heaters and meter illumination.
This is located on the secondary PCB, next to the spade terminals where the
Blue and White leads from the transformer are attached.
The up-rated rectifier is
physically larger than the
original and will require a
small amount of
modification to fit.
