reached.
4.2.8CRUISEMODESHIFTSCHEDULE.Thisshiftscheduleisactivated
whenaSAEJ1939datalinkmessageisreceivedtoindicatethatcruise
controlisactive.Shiftpointsforthisoperationaremodiedinordertoreduce
thefrequencyofupshiftsanddownshiftsduringcruiseoperation.Thisshift
scheduleisastandardfeatureofeachshiftcalibration.
Thevehiclecruisecontrolfeaturesinteractwithretarderactivation/deactivation
andaredeterminedbycalibrationandCMC(s).Referto4.3.2RETARDER/
CRUISECONTROLINTERACTIONS.
4.2.9ACCELERATION-BASEDPATTERN(ABP).
AllcalibrationsincludetheABPfeature.ABPraisesthefullthrottleupshiftand
downshiftpointsunderthefollowingconditions:
•Thethrottlepositionisatornear100%.
•Thevehicleisnotaccelerating.Anexampleoftheseconditionsisa
loadedvehicleclimbingagrade.ABPwilldownshiftthetransmission
athigheroutputshaftspeedsthanthestandardfullthrottledownshifts.
Downshiftingthetransmissionincreasestheoutputtorqueandallows
thevehicletomaintainroadspeed.
