This model is equipped with traffic information receiving apparatus to be used in

Follow the instructions below to program stations into preset memory:

The preset scanning continues in order until this mode is deactivated by pressing the P.
SCAN button ©, one of the Preset buttons (@ — @), UP switch ©, DN switch ©, DISC
( >/ED) button @® or TUNER/BAND button @ for a second time.
When a station not stored in the preset scan memory is being received, pressing the P.
SCAN button © activates the preset scan mode and scans starting with “No. 1” on the
same band you were receiving.
NOTE:
When the frequency of the preset memory station is weak, the preset scanning moves
to the next preset memory station at once.
Auto Memory Preset
1.
Select the desired tuning band (FM1, FM2, MW or LW) with the BAND button @. The
Band indicator shows your selection.
NOTE:
The auto memory preset procedure is allowed in the D.A.P. mode.
Press the A. MEMO button @ for over 2 seconds.
The tuner will automatically seek the 6 strongest stations in the selected band and
memorize them in order of their signal strength. These stations are automatically
placed in the preset memory with the strongest station in preset No. 1 and the 6th
strongest station in preset No. 6. When seeking stations, the tuner first seeks in the
local tuning mode. If less than 6 stations are memorized, the tuner seeks again in the
distance (DX) mode.
After finishing the auto memory preset, the tuner goes to the station placed in preset
memory No. 1. If no stations are memorized, it returns to the original station you were
listening to before the auto memory preset procedure began.
NOTE:
The SDK button operation will not be allowed in the Auto Memory mode.
The unit automatically switches from the stereo to monaural mode and the ST indicator
@ disappears if the FM signal becomes weak to reduce the noise level. It automatically
switches back to the stereo mode when the FM signal becomes strong and the ST
indicator @ appears.
information station, the CD play is interrupted and changed to FM radio if the
pre-tuned station begins a traffic information message. When the message is over,
the unit reverts to CD play automatically.
6. If traffic information reception is no longer necessary, release the SDK button for
normal radio reception.
NOTE:
When the SDK button is pressed and there is no SK signal, ALARM will sound after the
lapse of 25 seconds. Press the SDK button again to stop it.
NOTES:
1. The SDK button operation will not be allowed in the Auto Memory mode.
2. When the Auto Memory function is activated during tape play mode with the SDK
indicator ON, “TAPE” will be displayed. But the SDK button operation will not be
allowed for the Auto Memory function activated.
Press the TUNER button to display that the Auto Memory function is ON.
