@ CD OPERATION
The following instructions apply only to systems that incorporate the Alpine CD Shuttle
with the 7516M/7516MM/7516L.
Turn the unit on and access the CD mode by pressing the DISC ( »/# ) button @.
Initial System Turn-On
When operating the system for the first time after installation or after the vehicle's
battery has been disconnected and reconnected, press the Reset switch 68 with a sharp
pencil or other pointed object.
Normal Play
1. Press the DISC ( »/IE) button @.
2. The Digital Display @ will show “T-00" for a second, then “T-01" will be displayed and
the first track on the first disc will begin playback.
3. After the last track on the last disc is played back, the pickup will return to the
beginning of the first track of the first disc and begin playback from that point.
Pause
While the disc is playing, press the DISC ( »/11 ) button @ to temporarily stop playback.
The Digital Display @ will show “PAU”. To resume playback, press the DISC button
{ b/IE ) @ again.
Music Sensor (Skip)
This feature allows you to access the beginning of your musical track selection simply
and quickly. It is functional in the play or pause mode. The Digital Display @ shows the
track number you have selected.
e Toadvance to the next track on the disc, press the »» side of the M.S. - CD button

1. Playback stops, and the pickup moves up to the beginning of the next track. That
track number appears in the Digital Display @.
2. Playback begins immediately.
3. If you wish to access a track further ahead on the disc, continue pressing the >>
side of the M.S. - CD button © until you reach the track of your choice.
e Toreplay the track that is currently playing, press the Kd side of the M.S.- CD
button ©.
1. Playback stops, and the pickup moves back to the beginning of the current track.
The track number in the Digital Display @ remains the same.
2. Playback begins immediately from the beginning of the track.
3. \f you access a track further towards the beginning of the disc, continue pressing
the #4 side of the M.S.- CD button © until you reach the track of your choice.
Direct Disc Access
1. Press the DISC SELect switch @9 to select from discs 1 — 6. The disc and track
numbers will appear in the display.
2. Press the M.S. UP © or DN © button for musical track selection.

Fast Forward/Fast Backward
The Fast Forward/Fast Backward feature works in both play and pause modes.
1. To rapidly move the pickup forward, press the M.S. UP (pp) button @ and hold it
down for more than one second.
2. To rapidly move the pickup backward, press the M.S. DN (K€) button © and hold it
down for more than one second.
3. Continue holding the UP (»m) @ or DN ( 4} @ button until you reach the point where
you want to resume playback, then release the switch.
4. When the pickup reaches the end of the disc, the unit will go into the Pause mode.
REPEAT (One/Ail)
This feature allows you to continuously repeat a single track or one entire disc.
To Repeat a Single Track
1. Locate the music track of your choice using the M.S. UP @ or DN © button.
2. Press the REPEAT button @.
The RPT indicator @ will illuminate.
The music track will be played back repeatedly.
3. To stop repeat play, press the REPEAT button twice. The indicator switches from RPT
to RPT ALL and the illumination will be off.
To Repeat an Entire Disc
1. While playing a disc, press the REPEAT button © until RPT and ALL indicators are
illuminated.
2. The disc wil! be played back repeatedly.
3. To stop repeat play, press the REPEAT button @ once. The indicator illumination will
be off.
Disc Scan
Press the SCAN button @4 and the unit will playback the first 10 seconds of each track
in succession. This function is useful in searching ahead on a disc for a specific selection.
Pressing the SCAN button @ a second time deactivates the function.
M.I.X. (Random Play)
Press the M.I.X. button @® while the unit is in the play or pause mode. Musical tracks on
the selected disc will be played back in a random sequence generated by the
microprocessor. After all the tracks on the disc have been played back once, the player
will begin a new random sequence.
