  To resolve an Alvarado Turnstile that won't unlock: * First, check the power supply to the turnstile. Make sure it's properly connected and the switch is on. Confirm the fuse is in good condition and the LED on the control board is lit, also ensure that board receives 10VAC from the transformer. * Second, inspect the lock arm spring for damage or wear. Replace if necessary with the correct Alvarado spring. * Third, clean and lubricate the lock arms if they are sticking. * Finally, clean the solenoid plunger or replace the solenoid if cleaning doesn't improve its performance.

  To clean the solenoid of your Alvarado Turnstiles, clean the solenoid plunger and remove any debris from the cavity area. Alcohol wipes and alcohol moistened Q-tips work well. If cleaning does not improve performance, replace the solenoid.
