Why Alvarado MST do not unlock?
    • S
      Sarah MccallJul 29, 2025
An Alvarado turnstile might not unlock due to several reasons. It could be due to a missing or incorrect activation signal, in which case you should provide the proper activation signal. Another potential cause is a lack of power; ensure proper power is supplied. Weak power can also be a factor; test the solenoid to ensure it receives at least 24VDC. A broken lock arm spring can prevent unlocking, requiring a spring replacement. Finally, a defective relay or solenoid could be the issue, requiring testing and replacement as needed.

What to do if Alvarado MST do not relock or allow multiple entries per activation?
    • T
      Troy TerryNov 6, 2025
If an Alvarado turnstile fails to relock or allows more than one person to enter per activation, several factors could be responsible. First, ensure the unit is receiving proper power. If the activation signal exceeds a 0.5-second contact, install an interface relay (IFR). If an IFR is already installed, verify that it's set to the minimum setting, no longer than a 0.33-second contact. A misaligned micro-switch may be the cause, so try adjusting it. Inspect the micro-switch and its arm for bends or breaks; adjust the arm or replace the micro-switch as necessary. A faulty micro-switch may also be the culprit, requiring replacement. Check the lock arm spring for damage or absence, and replace if needed. Lastly, the lock arm might be sticking or binding in the unlocked position, in that case ...
