      The integrated control module diagnostic LED is flashing seven times during normal furnace operation because the flame sensor is coated or oxidized, positioned incorrectly, or the burner flame is lazy due to improper gas pressure or combustion air. Clean the flame sensor if coated/oxidized and inspect for proper sensor alignment. Compare the current gas pressure to the rating plate information and adjust as needed.

      If the circulator blower runs continuously, but the furnace doesn't operate and the integrated control module diagnostic LED flashes four times, the issue might be a faulty primary or auxiliary limit switch, insufficient conditioned air over the heat exchanger, or loose wiring. * Check the primary/auxiliary limit and replace if necessary. * Inspect filters and ductwork for blockage, cleaning filters or removing obstructions. * Ensure that the wiring connections are tightened or corrected.

      If the circulator blower runs continuously, but the furnace doesn't operate and the integrated control module diagnostic LED flashes six times, it could be due to flame rollout, misaligned burners, a blocked flue or air inlet pipe, a failed induced draft blower, loose wiring, a faulty rollout limit, a short in thermostat wiring or a control board fuse. * Check burners for proper alignment. * Check the flue and air inlet piping for blockage, proper length, elbows, and termination, correcting as necessary. * Tighten or correct wiring connections. * Check the rollout limit and replace if necessary. * Replace the control board fuse.

    Why is my Amana GMSS9 failing to operate and the diagnostic LED flashing continuously?

      If the furnace fails to operate and the integrated control module diagnostic LED is flashing continuously, the polarity of the 115 or 24-volt power may be reversed, the orange and gray wires to the transformer may be reversed, or the unit ground may be poor. Review the wiring diagram to correct the polarity and reverse the orange and gray wires going to the transformer. Verify proper ground and correct if necessary.
