3. After disconnecting all devices except the Engine ECU, use the engine manufac-
turer’s diagnostic procedures to verify the Engine ECU is working properly.
4. If the Engine ECU is good, reconnect each device one at a time, verifying the En-
gine ECU is still working after each device is connected.
5. If the Engine ECU quits working after a particular device is connected, replace
that device.
