o Purpose:
This Bulletin is a reminder to all CSE, Distributors and Mobilizers of the freezing hazards
when an HPS & XPS system is in storage or left outside in a transport vehicle un-
drained. This will not only damage the HPS & XPS cooling system it will damage other
critical components listed. The following components must be fully drained by following
the field drain procedure or
possible freezing will occur resulting in damage to the HPS &
XPS system.
o Flow Switch
o Particle Filter
o DI Filter
o Reservoir
o Resonator
o Water Hoses
o Priority Level:
Critical: This Tech Bulletin is extremely important.
o
o Details:
The Field Drain procedure applies to both the Lytron and Lydall Chillers
This procedure provides a standardized method for removing the maximum amount of
water from the laser system, prior to shipment or storage. Using the Field Water
Draining Kit, Greenlight HPS & XPS: P/N 0133-5190.
Drain system prior to shipment or storing of the HPS & XPS system.
Storage temperature is 10°C to 40°C.
Freezing will occur at 32°F / 0°C degrees or lower.
Please see the following pictures and step-by-step instructions on draining the HPS &
XPS system.
1. Open fill bottle cap. Insert drain hose to drain fitting, located in the lower left rear of
the HPS & XPS Laser System. Allow the system to gravity drain in to a floor drain or
equivalent container so as not to spill water in the surrounding area.
