Connect power adapter and USB cable, then insert the SATA drive upright into the dock.
Warning to power down the HDD before removing the drive to ensure safe removal.
No drivers needed for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8; requires partitioning if drive not visible.
No drivers for Mac OS 9.0+; Mac OS 8.6 requires USB Mass Storage Support 1.3.5.
Right-click My Computer, select Manage, then Disk Management in the left pane.
Click the unallocated drive in the bottom right pane and select 'New Partition'.
Click 'Next' to proceed through the wizard and select the partition type.
Specify partition size and select format options like NTFS and Quick Format.
Click 'Finish' to complete the wizard and wait for the drive to format.
Open 'My Computer' to view the newly created and healthy drive.
