COMMANDS
MENU
The
Commands
menu
contains
several items
which
con-
trol
th
e
MacTerminal
document
and
the
local
computer.
Pull
down
the
Commands
menu
.
Th
e first item listed s
hould
be
Don't
Record
Lines
Off
Top.
Wh
en
this item
is
sel
ec
ted,
th
e
entries
onto
the
MacTerminal
document
will
disappear
as
th
ey
scroll
off
the
top
of
the
di
sp
lay. Pulling
down
the
Commands
menu
again
will reveal
th
e
command
Record
Lines
Off
Top.
Selecting
thi
s item will
return
the
document
to
the
initial
mode.
Th
e
Mac
will
retain
the
lines
which
scro
ll
off
the
top
of
the
dis
pla
y.
We will
assume
at
this
point
th
at
you
have
been
communi-
cating
with
the
remote
computer.
You will notice
that
the
docum
ent scrolls
upward
beyond
the
top
of
th
e
Mac
's
di
splay.
The
portion
which
is
remembered
beyond
th
e
top
of
the
di
sp
lay
is
called
the
"Off
Top"
portion
of
the
document.
The
Off
Top
portion
of
the
d
oc
ument
is
delin
eated
from
the
dis
pla
y
portion
by
th
e
dotted
line
which
appears
at
the
top
of
the
display
(see
figure 8.4).
To
remove
th
e lines
stored
Off
Top, select
the
Clear
Lines
Off
Top
item
in
th
e
Commands
menu.
This
may
be
necessary
when
communica
ting
for
ex
te
nded
periods
of
tim
e
where
th
e
docum
ent
becomes
too
large
to
hold
within
the
Mac's
RAM.
The
Mac
will display
the
window,
s
hown
in figure
8.
14
. Select
Yes
to
co
mplete
th
e
operation.

You
may
wish
to
save
this
document
b
efore
erasing
the
Off
Top
portion.
The
next
item
in
the
Commands
menu
is Reset.
Selecting

ption
will
clear
the
display
portion
of
the
document.
It
will
also
cause
the
Settings
menu
it
ems
to
return
to
the
settings
held
when
the
document
was
opened
or
la
st
save
d.
The
OffTop
portion
of
the
document
will
remain
intact.
The
Mac
will
di
spl
ay
another
message
which
is
depicted
in figure 8.
15
.
Selecting
Yes will
instruct
the
Mac
to
comp
lete
the
opera
tion.
