2 GENERAL
2.1 INTRODUCTION
The Applikon In Situ sterilizable Bioreactor Systems basically consist of the following parts:
• An In Situ sterilizable Bioreactor with the appropriate auxiliaries, like a stirrer assembly, baffles, sensors,
an aeration assembly, etc.
• A wet part for temperature control and steam sterilization.
• An ez-Control with Power Box for measurement and control of process variables (pH, temperature, DO,
level, pressure, and stirrer speed) with corresponding controller outputs in order to keep process
conditions on set-point.
The ez-Control combines and supports actuators like pumps and valves.
2.2 SYSTEM OVERVIEW
Below the combination of the ez-Control and the Pilot System 70L is presented.
