Use of a new battery (04_15, 04_16, 04_17, 04_18)
CHECK THAT THE CABLE TERMINALS AND BATTERY LEADS ARE:
- IN GOOD CONDITION (NOT CORRODED OR COVERED BY DEPOSITS);
- COVERED BY NEUTRAL GREASE OR PETROLEUM JELLY.
CAUTION
UPON REFITTING, CONNECT THE LEAD TO THE POSITIVE TERMINAL (+) FIRST
AND AFTERWARDS THE LEAD TO THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL (-).

If the rider and passenger saddles have been refitted onto the vehicle, re-
move them again.
•
Install the battery (7) in its seat.
•
Position the positive cable (6) correctly, and fasten it to the positive terminal
(+), tightening the screw (5).
The positive cable (6) must be on top of the battery (7), as shown.

Position the negative cable (4) correctly, and fasten it to the negative terminal
(-), tightening the screw (3).
The negative cable (4) must be on top of the battery (7), as shown.
