6. Start-up and operation
Beforestartingthepump,dismantleandcleanthesuctionpipe.
Anyforeignmaterialinthepumpshouldberemoved.
6.1 Checking the pump for foreign material
Removethepumpbodyasdescribedbelow.Thesectionaldrawing
(page3)istobeusedforreferencepurposes.
1. Disconnectthepowersupply.
2. Removethepumpbody(items1a,1b)byunscrewingtheclampring
(item9a)orbodyscrews,andcarefullyextractfromthebody.
3. Turntheimpeller(item4)toensurethatthereisnoforeignmaterial
behind it.
4. Removeanyforeignmaterialfrominsidethepump.
5. Whenthepumpbodyiscleanandfreeofforeignmaterial,reassemble
the pump.
Mountthepumpbodyasdescribedbelow:
6. Checkthatthelocatingpin(item8),whichisinstalledinthetopofthe
backplate,tswiththedetentinthepumpbodyandcarefully(to
avoiddamagetotheO-ring)pressthepumpbody(item1a,1b)
insoitcoverstheO-ring(item6).Thenfastenwiththeclampring
(item9a)orbodyscrewsandapplythecorrecttighteningtorque.

7. Checkthatthepipeunionshavebeentightenedproperlyandthatthe
pipesupportshavebeentted.
Tofacilitatethettingofthefrontcoverandpumphousing,we
recommendthattheO-ringislubricatedwithathinlayeroffood-
friendly,acid-freegreaseorsoap.
