it could be that the information on the
hard drive of your ARCHOS may have
been corrupted and should be corrected
or formatted by using the system
recovery option.
For more info, see the System Recovery
section in the full manual.
To carry out a system recovery,
proceed as follows:
1. Shut down the device (if it is not
turned off) and turn it on.
2. When the screen turns on,
immediately press and hold the Volume
+ button until the Recovery mode starts
(white screen).
3. Start by selecting "Repair Disk" and
follow the instructions displayed on the
screen.
4. If repairing the disk did not work, you
can restart the device and go into
recovery mode again and select the
formatting option.
ATTENTION: Note that formatting will
erase all data on your ARCHOS device.
If your device can be connected to a PC
and be recognized, then we recommend
you to back up all data stored on your
ARCHOS onto your computer.
If you still cannot correctly use your
ARCHOS after trying a system recovery,
you should contact our Technical
Support.
When I turn my ARCHOS on, it sometimes freezes and I have to reset it
every time. What should I do?
Use the 'Repair and Formatting Tools'
function (Tools > Settings > Customer
Assistance).
Tap on "Repair and Formatting Tools"
and then on "Clear temporary system
files and cache".
If trying this did not solve the problem
or if you cannot access the Repair and
Formatting Tools, try a system recovery
to repair or format your disk.
